Asiva® Replace or Apply Color Universal Binary Plug-in for Adobe® Photoshop® CS3

Asiva® Replace or Apply Color Universal Binary Plug-in

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3 ONLY.

The Asiva® Replace or Apply Color Universal Binary plug-in runs under Photoshop CS3 only on Mac OS X 10.4.8 or 10.4.9, PowerPC® G4 or G5 or multicore Intel processor.

The Asiva® Replace or Apply Color Universal Binary Plug-in (formerly Correct+Apply Color) for Adobe® Photoshop® CS3is based on patented Asiva® technology, which allows unmatched control over how color replacement or an overlay color (painting) is applied to an image. This plug-in has 2 distinct filters from which you can choose:
  • Replace Color is similar to Photoshop's Replace Color, but with some very fundamental differences. Asiva's Replace Color algorithm take into consideration a pixel's original Hue, Saturation and Intensity values before replacing-in the new color. Very natural looking results are easily attainable.
  • Apply Color is a very easy way to paint any user-defined color into any part of the image based on pixels' Hue, Saturation and Intensity values. It operates almost like a magic paintbrush. This filter is particularly useful when a simple paint operation cannot produce natural-looking results. Common applications of Apply Color include: applying 'digital make-up' for portraits, colorizing black and white images, and false color imaging.
First, use Asiva's built-in Hue, Saturation and Intensity Maps to draw curves defining the source color(s) you want to replace or apply color to. You may begin this process of selecting the color(s) you want to replace or apply color to, by sampling the colors in the area of the image you wish to affect with the built in Color Sampler Tool.
  • Manually adjusting the curves in the maps allows you to refine certain Hue or Saturation or Intensity values selected. You can see what you have selected by overlaying a chosen color in preview mode.
  • The slope of the curves will define how the filter is transitioned. A near vertical line on your Map will create defined boundaries between where the filter is applied and is not, and a gently sloped curve on the Map will make the boundaries smooth. Asiva's curves are so precise that tedious masking prior to application of color replacement or color overlay is often not necessary.
