About Asiva Photo

Asiva Photo is a digital image enhancement independent program featuring all 16-bit per component (RGB/CMYK) processing and output for all corrections or effects. This gives you 256 times the bandwidth and precision of 8-bit. Asiva Photo allows you to make color corrections and enhancements precisely, without time-consuming masks, making for efficient and natural-looking results. With Asiva Photo, you make selections using adjustable maps on the Hue, Saturation and Luminance components of an image. This alone gives Asiva power not found in any other color correction application. Once the selections are made, the user has control over other elements of the Operation (effect). Asiva Photo's current Operations include:

Color correct Apply color Shift component Gain component Remap component Matrix/kernel operators (soften/sharpen effects) Create matte

All Operations can be applied and/or removed with brush, ellipse or rectangle regions. Operations and their regions can be saved and/or deleted as well as Sequences of Operations. This is useful for archival or when you have more then one image with the same problem. You can save the Sequence of Operations created for one image and apply it to other images. This saves time and effort. You are also able to copy and paste regions from one Operation to another as well as move and resize these regions within an image. Instead of rendering a high-resolution image with each change, Asiva Photo uses a lower resolution image (proxy) that lets the user see changes almost immediately. All Operations are saved as vector-based sets of instructions so you don't have to worry about a loss of resolution when applying the same Operations or Sequence of Operations to different sized image files.

Product Background

In 1998 Shapiro Consulting Group, Inc., (SCGI), (formerly Shapiro 3D Model Inc., founded April 1994) became a technology incubator for software tools that would benefit theatrical, broadcast and home video productions. In this role, SCGI's first research and development goal was to improve the aesthetics of video (analog and digital) to match the quality of telecine-transferred film at a relatively low cost. The results, the Asiva Broadcast Digital Enhancement System (First Generation Process). This process embodies a propriety-patented technology, which supports the company's software products, i.e. Asiva® Photo, Asiva® DV, Asiva® Broadcast and Asiva® High Definition.
